Topic Identification from Spoken TED-Talks

This thesis deals with the problems of language recognition and topic classification, using TED-LIUM corpus to train both the ASR and classification models. The ASR system is built using the Kaldi toolkit, achieving the WER of 16.6%. The classification problem is addressed using linear classification methods, specifically Multinomial Naive Bayes and Linear Support Vector Machines, the latter method achieving higher topic classification accuracy.

Téma mé praktické diplomové práce je přítomný okamžik „teď“, jeho chápání v různých disciplínách a také empirická zkušenost střetu žitého času s časem, jež nastavil našemu světu nezávislý metr. Motivem pro zájem o přítomný okamžik „teď“ je především má vlastní zkušenost, ale je také reakcí na současné tendence v umění, jež se podle mého názoru od přítomnosti odvrací. Výstupem tohoto zájmu je video uchopit okamžik (08‘30‘‘, 2016) natáčené ve studiu na klíčovací plátno doplněné audio komentářem. Druhé video natáhnout okamžik (01‘00‘‘, 2016) je video záznam mé vlastní zkušenosti s časem. Opírám se o vlastní zkušenosti, populárně naučné zdroje i o fenomenologické texty od autorů, jako jsou Emmanuel Lévians nebo Jan Sokol.

The aim of this work is to explore, summarize, and organise the most influential educational technologies. Furthermore, compare these technologies with each other and divide them into specific categories, such as educational software, websites with learning tools, electronic encyclopaedias, mobile devices, and devices whose main purpose are solely educational. Summarizing these technologies and putting them in an order will help other students to decide what could suit them most and what, on the other hand, has no use for them. It is also the aim to underline the most useful technologies, help to understand their basic functions and their main purposes, and most importantly show their advantages and weaknesses.

Cílem této práce je přinést komplexní pohled na problematiku nových technologií v oboru vzdělávání a rozvoje, mířeným hlavně na veřejnost, specialisty vzdělávání a rozvoje a na manažery, kteří se rozhodují zda ve své firmě začít využívat nové technologie nebo nikoliv. Práce ukazuje začátky firemního vzdělávání a rozvoje, jejich evoluci a následní plusy a mínusy nových dostupných formátů. Práce také zahrnuje nejen popis nových formátů vzdělávání a rozvoje ale také definuje podmínky nutné k jejich úspěšnému zavedení a možnosti měření jejich úspěšnosti.
